REPORT FROM WILTSHIRE COUNCILLOR

Wiltshire Council budget passed of 4.5% increase, lower than govt. recommended with no closures or cuts in service and new Trowbridge leisure centre contracts signed. A345 SID to stay along with speed watch but no permanent change to speed limit as yet. MOD in agreement to move bus stop back into MOD land opposite Harefield crescent on A345 to make it safer.

REPORTS/UPDATES BY COUNCILLORS

a)    Phoenix Hall - Meeting 29th January, cob wall awaiting residents provision of proof of shared ownership. Bookings are showing an upwards trend and an increase in receipts, income and expenditure report available. Next meeting 9th April. Cllr SS

b)   Planning - Repairs to Fittleton Manor cob wall, no objections PL202501184 Cllr VJ and Cllr CG

c)    Footpaths & Rights of Way - Droveway and Fittleton 6 footpath cleared by Landmarc. Cllr PC

d)    Transport & Highways - See Parish Matters

e)    Allotments - 1 allotment now vacant, advertise in next newsletter. Post replacement done. Letters sent with invoices for next year. Cllr SS

f)   Jubilee Committee - VE Day celebrations, Thursday 8th May planning wreath laying 12.15 Netheravon High street at memorial, then to Phoenix Hall for afternoon tea. Bell ringing at 6.30pm at Netheravon church. Cllr CG

g)   Stonehenge Area Board - minutes available online. Cllr PC

h)   Parish Steward - Visit imminent. Cllr KF

PARISH MATTERS

A vote of thanks was raised for two councillors who have recently stood down. Cllr Greg Morgan has departed due to work commitments, we thank him for his time and efforts and note that he is still available to assist with the Christmas Lights!

The second councillor to leave was our Chairman Cllr Dorothea Georgeson due to personal reasons. Dot has been a stalwart for the Council and villages as a Parish Clerk, Councillor and Chairman over a number of years.

a)   Kissing Gate, landowners happy with the repair as is. Still looking to replace, awaiting feedback from Wilts CC.

b)   Bank account Cllr SS to be a third signatory on the account.

c)   Cllr Vacancies: Two at present, recruiting is ongoing.

d)   Everleigh approach sign and road markings update, approved by LHFIG with 25% contribution from FcH PC.

e)   Fingerpost, Contact with Mr O'Grady required, Cllr PC to action

f)    Location of Annual Parish Meeting, Phoenix Hall at 7pm 13th May 2025.

g)   Newsletter: It was resolved to make a donation of £200 to the Newsletter. To be reviewed annually.
