Reports from Sub-Committees & Representatives on other Groups

a). Phoenix Hall – The recent AGM accounts show healthy rental income, and bookings remain steady. However, one regular booking is expected to end shortly. Toilet facility upgrades are likely to take place this year. The next meeting is scheduled for 7th October.

b). Planning – Application PL/2026/04116, Clovelly: a site meeting is to be arranged by the Planning Committee. At 350 Fittleton, works have taken place to the rear patio with new brickwork. The Planning Officer will visit to confirm whether the works fall within permitted rights in the conservation area.

c). Footpaths and Rights of Way – The Droveway is scheduled for strimming once the bird nesting season has ended.

d). Transport and Highways – Wiltshire Council is due to review bus services for rural communities, as well as the maintenance and renewal of its 4,500 bus stops across the county. Issues have been reported with the new electric bus fleet, although replacement plans are expected shortly. It was also noted that more parishioners are disposing of grass clippings and garden waste on verges around the parish. This will be included in the next newsletter.

e). Allotments – All allotments are currently occupied. The Council will continue to contact Landmarc regarding the outstanding invoices.

f). Jubilee Committee - Nil

g). Stonehenge Area Board – Nil

h). Parish Steward – The Parish Steward was unable to visit this week. Cleaning of signs around the village will be requested for the next visit.
