Report from Wiltshire Councillor

Full report to follow. Cllr Ian Blair-pilling did however give a heads up on the following subjects including the impact of Covid on the Hills Rubbish/Recycling Collections, cost of living to families/individuals is not a Wilts Council responsibility and a ‘windfall’ of capital due to last year’s Covid spending cuts will result in a concerted effort to refresh worn out road markings, clear gullies and renewed efforts to stop fly tipping.

Minutes of FcH Parish Council Meeting held on Tuesday 10th May 2022 agreed and accepted.

REPORTS/UPDATES BY COUNCILLORS

 

a. Phoenix Hall - SS  

(SS) The next meeting to take place will be next week, on the agenda will be Finance, Booking of the Hall, marketing, repairs to garden wall and general maintenance.   

 

b. Planning -CG/VJ 

 (CG/VJ)   Fittleton Manor fitting of windows has been retrospectively agreed.

 

c. Footpaths & Rights of Way – SVE

(SVEDates have now been issued for the Parish Steward’s visits and a copy of his duties forwarded to SVE.

The next visit will be 30th September 2021, it was agreed that when walking through the village any jobs that require repair or review should be forwarded to SVE prior to 30th September 2021.

 

 d. Transport & Highways - GM  

(CG) Speed of traffic coming down the Everleigh road and round Haxton pound is disconcerting for members of the public. However, a speed limit is unenforceable.

 

e. Allotments - SS 

(SS) On 10th August 2021 a three-month notice was issued to one allotment holder for failure to adhere to the allotment procedures.

 

f. Jubilee Committee - SVE 

(SVE) Nothing to report from the Jubilee Committee. To mark the Anniversary on 5th June 2022 a beacon light will be lit on behalf of both Fittleton Haxton and Netheravon

 

g. Amesbury Area Board – DG

(DG) It would be an advantage to attend some of the Amesbury Board informal meetings to cultivate any ideas between each area.

Correspondence received

Mr Wood of Fittleton has requested funding (£30) to assist in the setting up of art classes starting September 2022 to be held in the Phoenix Hall. Part funded by participants, ourselves and Netheravon PC. Nominated by CC and seconded by VJ and unanimously passed. Further details to follow in due course.

Parish Matters

The scaffolding on Magpie Cottage Haxton will soon be removed. Continued work is on track and progressing well.

An appeal to a planning application has been received from The Old School, Fittleton.  The parish council will review the documents and respond accordingly.
